Speakers Bureau Speaker
Fhead Jones was a Metis holy man who is best known for the 14 years he taught spirituality in the Downtown Eastside at the former LifeSkills Centre. He co-founded the Radio Station Cafe and the short-lived Downtown Eastside Free University. He served on the board of directors of the Portland Hotel Society, the Tenants' Rights Action Coalition, and the Carnegie Community Centre, and was featured in the first "Insite" documentary Somewhere Else is Here. Fhead's energy in his final years was devoted to extracting himself from Fentanyl addiction and fighting for more compassionate and effective responses to the overdose crisis.
